Belt-hold candlestick pattern

Belt-hold (belthold)
Forecast: trend reversal
Trend prior to the pattern: bearish
Belt-hold is a single candlestick pattern that can be seen in both bullish and bearish markets. Depending on where it appears, it can predict the bearish or bullish reversal.

Can be considered reliable and frequently met candlestick patterns.

The Belt-Hold patterns are somewhat similar to Marubozu candlesticks, which are characterized by having no shadows and indicating strong buying or selling pressure. In a bullish context, the Belt-Hold can be compared to the Bullish Marubozu, and in a bearish context, it is similar to the Bearish Marubozu.

Bullish Belt-hold

The candlestick closes above the open price, creating a long green candlestick with a short up shadow. The pattern suggests a strong buying interest from the opening price to the closing price. The lack of a bottom shadow indicates that buyers were in control throughout the session.

This candlestick may occur as part of other candlestick patterns such as Bullish Engulfing, Piercing, Three Inside Up.

Bullish Belt-hold candle:

2nd

• long green body
• no bottom shadow
• short up shadow
• closes above its open price

Bearish Belt-hold

The bearish pattern is the mirror opposite of the bullish one. The pattern is observed during the uptrend and signals about the change from the established uptrend to the downtrend. The candlestick closes below the opening price, creating a long red candlestick with little to no up shadow.

This candle may occur as part of other candlestick patterns such as Bearish Engulfing, Dark Cloud Cover, Three Inside Down.

Bearish Belt-hold candle:

• long red body
• short bottom shadow
• no up shadow
• closes below its open price

The longer the body of the Belt-hold candlesticks, the stronger the reversal signal.

As with other patterns, it should be confirmed by the subsequent candlestick or other technical indicators to increase the probability of a valid signal.
